Human Services Workforce Policy Success! On January 23, 2008, the workforce investment board adopted a new policy to make the human services workforce one of their 8 critical industries. As a critical industry, the needs of this workforce, that supports our youth preparation for adulthood, will receive more support and interest from the workforce investment board. We will be examining in greater depth the status of the human services field, assessing the possibility of creating career pathways from high school to college, developing a plan to better support professional development in the region and examining ways to better align community college human services/teacher/after school certificate programs with the youth development approach.
